For heavy duty carrier-class Ethernet products, GarrettCom Inc. is the industry leader. For Canopy applications, the Magnum line of rugged Ethernet products from GarrettCom offers a product range from very small switches (such as the S14) and converters to large rack-mounted managed switches (such as the 6K series) with security software, gigabit speed, and redundant LAN options.

Many models are hardened and rated for outdoor use. Others are NEBS and ETSI certified for central offices and other carrier facilities.

Ease of use is provided by GUIs on managed switches with secure web access. Extended temperature ratings are found throughout the product line for telecom, industrial automation, power utility, and traffic control applications.

Recently a Power over Ethernet (PoE) Power Source Switch (PS14) was released. The PS14 includes four 10/100 RJ-45 ports in a compact package, rated for temperature un-controlled (outdoor) environments. The product includes an integral -48V DC terminal block for pwr input.
