Markets
GarrettCom emphasizes industrial networking solutions for the
factory automation, power utility, telecommunications and
temperature-uncontrolled, outdoor locations. The company provides
networking products to an expanding list of
mission-critical applications, particularly in specialty
markets. GarrettCom offers off-the-shelf solutions to many
applications where a custom product is the only alternative.
Products
GarrettCom's product line
includes the Magnum line of industrial Ethernet products,
substation-hardened fiber Links and Optical Stars, and
multi-protocol routers and terminal servers. GarrettCom's
industrial Ethernet products include managed or unmanaged
switches, media converters, and hubs configurable with fiber
or copper ports, extended operating temperature range, 24V
DC, 125V DC, -48V DC or AC power. The Magnum line of Ethernet LAN products includes
more than 100 standard product models divided among 10 Mb,
100 Mb, and Gigabit Ethernet switches, hubs, media
converters, repeaters, concentrators, and transceivers.
Chassis sizes range from Plantwide LAN units capable of
controlling up to 40 ports to compact Converter Switch units
that can fit in the tightest of places. The company
emphasizes built-in fiber solutions and the high-reliability
and performance-oriented features required for the
high-availability markets. GarrettCom offers dual-source
-48VDC power, NEBS and ETSI certification, and 19" RETMA or
23" Telco rack-mount options for telecommunications
applications; and dual-source 24VDC or 125 VDC power,
DIN-Rail mounting option, built-in fiber for shielding
against electrical noise and longer distance connections,
and extended temperature rating for industrial automation
and power utility applications.
Channels
GarrettCom has a clear market channel strategy, selling
products only through a network of resellers, OEMs, system
integrators, and international distributors. GarrettCom is
proud of its private label relationships with many
well-known telecommunications and industrial equipment
manufacturers.
Customers
GarrettCom, through its
channel partners, has products installed throughout the
world. Representative customers include: Alcatel, BHP
Billiton, Duke Energy, Dynavar Networking, GNP Computers,
Invensys, Lucent, Nevada Power, Siemens, Sperry Marine,
Tekelec, and L3 Communications.
